WIRELESS LOCAL AREA NETWORK (WLAN)

In wireless LAN, a mobile user can connect to a local area network, through a wireless connection. Here, no cables workstation can be anywhere as long as within transmitting distance to the access point.

It’s very good benefit is increased mobility, network users can move about almost without restriction and access LANs from nearly anywhere.

It is easier to administer and less expensive. Upgradeability is much easier than the others.

The major draw back from wireless LAN is security (wiretapping).
