is2104 Information and files

Here is where students taking unit is2104 (formerly IC311/IC216) can access some information and download some files. There won't ever be a lot of things in here, as the net changes fast and you should be able to find most things independently.

Normally, files placed here cannot be viewed directly by your browser. What you need to do is click on them, and then - if you get a dialog box asking you what to do - SAVE the file (i.e. don't try to open it). Once you have it on disk (you will of course check which drive:\directory you saved it to, won't you?) you can then open it using the application in which it was created, e.g. Word, Powerpoint, etc.

Currently available files to download:

  • Barlow versus Barbrook - part of the reading for the seminar in Week 13 (plain text, 39k - viewable in Netscape. Print from Netscape - approx. 10 pages - or save and print via Notepad or Word)

    Newham Online

Here are a couple of links to various parts of Newham Online. Don't restrict yourself to these: there are many more links from the Newham Online Home Page.

    Some links for Web authors

There are many others, so don't restrict yourself to these. Let me know if any of these don't work (I don't check them very often), and tell me about any better ones you find.
