UEL internal connections:

If you've come here directly from outside, you might want to go up to the University of East London home page. Innovation Studies is now part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Information and files relevant to specific course modules (now largely irrelevant, as most of this stuff is handled by our Virtual learning Environment, UEL Plus):

ESST

UEL is a member of the ESST consortium, which teaches and researches in the area of society, science and technology in Europe. I'm currently ESST Secretary, and UEL runs its MA in Innovation Studies as part of the ESST programme.

Networks etc:

I've set up a few links to sites relevant to research and teaching on Network Policies and Technologies (very old now).

Archive:

At University level, I used to chair the UEL Internet User Group. It ended a long time ago, but I'm keeping the link as a partial record of its activities.

The Academic Network on European Telecommunications once had its own home page, hosted at UEL. The network is defunct and the Web page is now well out of date, but I'm keeping the page for historical reasons.

More importantly:

"Some people believe football is a matter of life and death. I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that."
Bill Shankly

[Anfieldblog, October 11]

So Liverpool want to break out of the Premier League broadcast rights agreement and sell their own airtime. This could turn into a long and bitter battle with most of the other clubs. Is it selfish? Yes - but isn't it exactly what the Premier League did to the other divisions of the Football League back in 1992?
