Who Needs to Know about Social Enterprise?

There are three main types of people who would benefit from studying social enterprise. They are those already working in or contemplating a career in the following:

• a voluntary sector or community organisation that needs a sustainable financial and management base

• companies or businesses that have a distinctive social purpose or ethos of community benefit, or are offering consultancy or capacity building services to the public and voluntary sector

• statutory agencies in areas such as regeneration, community development or health and social services where partnerships with other sectors are important
