Gavin Brown is on the web

Welcome to my web-page. This page is currently under construction, so please bear with me. I hope that this page as it currently stands will give you an idea of what's to come. While I hope to improve the layout and design of these pages as my technical skills improve, I'm not really interested in cramming them too full of quirky imags and graphics - too often they become cliches very quickly, and I really hope that the ideas expressed on these pages as they develop will be of interest to you no matter how they are dressed up.

These pages will mainly act as a means to present some of my academic writing, but because the work I am currently engaged in stems in large part from my personal experiences over the last fifteen years or so, and much of my political activism during that time, aspects of my personal history will also be touched on. So, please forgive the snippits of personal biography and the memories of events past - they're not intended as exercises in self-indulgence, but as guides to where I am today. Equally, where I've placed links to other websites, it is because I find them interesting, or useful, but it does not necessarily mean that I am (still) in total agreement with what is found there.

Enough of the explanations and disclaimers, here is a bit about me.....

I am currently registered on the MA by Independent Study within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of East London, where I also work as the Head of Admissions. My masters research is a study of the 'queer spaces' in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets where I live with my partner Paul.

To date, I have not published much of my work, but I am keen to do so. I'd be interested to hear your views on my work, especially if you are engaged in similar projects. Why not e-mail me?
