Dog Agility Biomechanics

What is Dog agility?

Dog agility is a fast-moving sport where the handler is required to negotiate their dog over jumps, walls, long jumps, through tunnels, tyres and across see-saw, A-frames and dog-walks. The winner is the fastest dog with the least faults.

What is Biomechanics?

Biomechanics (particularly sports biomechanics) could be considered similar to physics. A biomechanist has two main aims. First, to improve performance by improving technique.  Secondly, to reduce the risk of injury.

This website combines dog agility and biomechanics and aims to explore some of the factors associated with agility performance.
